Position:
Robert F. Rushmer Professor of Bioengineering | Adjunct Professor of Chemical Engineering, University of Washington

The Pun lab develops materials for biomedical applications, with a particular focus on drug delivery. Our current application areas include cancer therapy, trauma, CNS disorders and kidney disease. We use library screening (e.g. phage display or SELEX for aptamers) to discover new targeting ligands and integrate these bioactive motifs with synthetic materials.

In one project, we used peptide phage display to discover a peptide that preferentially binds IL4-polarized macrophage. We are now using this peptide in targeted nanoformulations for depletion or re-polarization of these cells.
